Is it safe? What we access, what we store
You are right to ask before giving any service access to your Telegram. Here is exactly what each feature needs, what is kept, and how you switch it off.
Open the bot in Telegram Free · no app to install
What needs what
| Feature | Login with your account? | What the bot can see |
|---|---|---|
| Saving from public channels | No login | Only the link you send |
| Downloading stories | No login | Only the username or link you send |
| Saving from private channels | One-time login | It acts as your account to fetch the posts you ask for |
| Business mode (deleted / edited / view-once) | No login (Chat Automation) | The private chats you allow in Chat Automation |
So you can use most of the bot without ever logging in. The login exists for one reason: a private channel shows its posts only to members, and the only member is you.
About the login
- It is the normal Telegram sign-in: your phone number, the code Telegram sends to your app, and your two-step verification password if you have one. The code and password are used once to open the session and are not kept.
- It creates an ordinary session on your account. You will see it in Telegram → Settings → Devices.
- The session is stored encrypted on our server and is used only to fetch the posts you send links to and deliver them to you.
- We do not post in your name, message your contacts or change your account settings.
- One thing you should know: after you log in, your account is subscribed to SaveContent's own news channel. You can leave that channel whenever you like, and it does not affect the bot.
How to end it
- In the bot: Control Panel → your profile → Log out.
- Or in Telegram: Settings → Devices → find the session → Terminate. This works even if you never open the bot again.
About Business mode
- You connect it yourself in Telegram → Settings → Chat Automation. Telegram shows you which permissions the bot gets.
- The bot receives the messages of the private chats you allow. You can exclude any chat. It never receives groups, channels or secret chats.
- To give you the archive, those messages are stored on our server, and media is kept so it can be shown to you again. This is the feature itself: without storing them there would be nothing to show after a deletion.
- You open your archive through the Control Panel inside Telegram, which Telegram signs for your account, so no other user can open it. Like any hosted service, the data is held on a server that the service's operator administers.
- Remove the bot from Chat Automation and it stops receiving your messages at that moment.
What we keep about you
- Your Telegram ID, name, username and app language (what any bot receives when you press Start).
- Your saves count and plan, to apply the limits; payments you made for a plan.
- If you logged in: your phone number and the encrypted session. If you connected Business: your archive.
- Messages you write to the bot, so that support can answer.
The bot may send you its own announcements in your chat with it. It never writes in your other chats.
An independent service
SaveContent is an independent service, not part of Telegram. Using any third-party tool with your account is a matter of trust, and you should decide with the facts in front of you. That is what this page is for. If you are unsure, start with the features that need no login.
Questions? Write to the bot; your message reaches support.
Questions people ask
Is it safe to log in to a Telegram bot with my account?
It is a real grant of access, so treat it as one. With SaveContent the login is needed only for private channels; the session is stored encrypted, used only to fetch posts you ask for, and you can end it any time from Telegram → Settings → Devices.
Can SaveContent read my chats?
Only if you connect Business mode, and then only the private chats you allowed in Chat Automation. Saving posts and stories does not give it your chats.
How do I remove SaveContent's access completely?
Log out in the bot (or terminate its session in Settings → Devices), and remove the bot in Settings → Chat Automation. After that it has no access to your account.
Does SaveContent need my password?
Only your Telegram two-step verification password, and only during a login for private channels, if you set one. It is used once and not stored.
It takes about a minute
Open the bot, press Start and send your first link. It answers in your Telegram app's language.
